I wrote and edited the sports section of Channel 4’s national teletext service. I covered:

• American Football and proper football at Wembley
• sumo wrestling at the Royal Albert Hall
• Aussie Rules at the Oval
• women’s cricket at Lord’s

I am a Norwich City fan and have made some small contribtions to BBC Radio Norfolk’s The Scrimmage.

I played football for:

• Norfolk Lions
• Westdene Wombats
• E and A United and Patcham AFC (1903)
• University of York first eleven
• Bank of England first eleven

and latterly Athletico Scope

I love playing cricket and have played for:

• Brighton and Hove (fine leg both ends)
• Brighton and Hove Crescent (career best: 5 wickets for 27 runs)
• Bank of England 3.5 XI, where I won the Barker Medal for crass batting
